July 2009 - The Braintree Electric Light Department (BELD), a supplier of electric, internet and cable television service to the Braintree Township in Massachusetts, announced a new voluntary renewable energy program called BGreen to support local resources. Customers will now have an option to purchase renewable energy in to-be-defined units at a cost of 2¢ above the standard rate. The program will support a 10.6 kilowatt photovoltaic solar array and a wind turbine within Braintree (location and size to be decided).
