Sonoma Clean Power


May 2014 - On May 1, 2014, Sonoma County officials and participating cities launched Sonoma Clean Power, a public power program that presents an alternative to Pacific Gas & Electric Co. (PG&E) with a greater amount of renewable energy. Sonoma Clean Power's customers are expected to realize a 4–5 percent savings in electricity charges, or a total of $6 million in savings, in the first year. Sonoma Clean Power's renewable portfolio consists of 33 percent of its power obtained from renewable sources that include wind, solar, geothermal, and renewable energy certificates.
