February 2010 - The Center for Resource Solutions (CRS) launched the Buy Clean Energy 2010 campaign, partnered with a Web site enabling users to research local utility green power programs and buy renewable energy certificates (RECs). The campaign is sponsored by Xcel Energy, Sterling Planet, EcoElectrons, and various supporting organizations. Sterling Planet is offering a 100% wind REC option priced at $5.00 per 1,000 kWh block. The campaign has set a goal of 1 billion kilowatt-hours of new purchases in 2010.

December 2009 - Codero, a dedicated and managed hosting provider, announced that it has purchased 12.6 million kWh of Green-e certified renewable energy certificates (RECs) from Ecoelectrons Renewable Energy to match its annual electricity needs for its two US data centers, as well as its Overland Park, KS headquarters.
